If your computer is getting slower and slower every time you turn it on and you just can’t figure out why then chances are you may have not taken the opportunity to thoroughly clean your computer.

Who would have ever thought that you would have to clean your computer, and how in the world would you clean your computer you may be asking. After all, we simply can’t open it up and clean it with water or something.

Now you may laugh, but I have had a lot of people look at me stupid when I tell them that they need to clean the inside of their computers because that is what is causing them to slow down the way that they are.

I know that it sounds mean, but it sometimes break the ice and makes them chuckle when I tell them that I am not actually going to open the computer and clean it but that the computer itself within the operating system has to be cleaned.

On a side note, the type of computers that I am talking about is running Microsoft Window’s Operating System (some version or another). If you are one of the lucky 80-90% of us who are privileged to own and operate a PC (nooo, that’s not sarcasm you hear) your computer will have a have an internal database that stores settings and options for just about every function your computer does.

All the hardware inside of the actual computer, your operating system software that you may have installed once-upon-a-time, most non-operating system software, and per-user settings use this database called a registry. The registry also provides a window into the operation of the kernel, exposing runtime information such as performance counters and currently active hardware.

Are you among the many people who don’t understand what actually happens whenever you install a piece of software onto your computer, use it for a certain period of time and decide that you no longer have a use for it and uninstall it.

You think nothing of it and go on to install another piece of software on top of the old one. What you may know is that when uninstalled the first piece of software Windows was not able to do it perfectly and it inadvertently left pieces of the software behind, and after a period of time these bits and pieces of left over software slows your system down to a crawl.

If you are not in the habit of cleaning out these bits of left over software data you will experience decreased performance almost to the point of the computer not functioning anymore. To keep your system from coming to a virtual standstill the invention of registry cleaners came about.

The registry cleaner I will be reviewing today is called RegistryFix, a downloadable piece of software designed to search your registry to discover hidden errors, point them out to you and give you the option of deleting them off of your computer.

While most of these registry cleaners serve the same function, each of them have their own specific functions that make the unique, and some registry cleaners are able to detect more than others. RegistryFix happens to serve the following functions:

  • Missing file associations
  • Missing startup programs
  • Invalid device drivers
  • Invalid application paths
  • Missing DLL files
  • Missing help files
  • Missing system fonts

RegistryFix is designed to detect many registry related issues that may occur within your computer. It comes with a scanner to search your entire registry for invalid and missing keys, erroneous entries, infiltration from spyware entries for starters. The software will then notify you of the errors, their causes, and then suggest courses of action to take against these problems.

A good number of computer related problems are usually software in nature. This is because a great deal of the computer’s lifespan deals with the accessing of information in and out. In the process of all of this, some of the information gets corrupted and makes accessibility of files difficult.

Most software related problems under normal circumstances start with the registry. The registry is a small program that holds all the information about programs in your computer. When you install a program into your computer, a little script is written in the registry containing details of how the program installed, what corresponding files are needed to make them work, and bits of information on how it needs to react with your operating system.

Upon installation there are a number of things that can happen that causes the writing of more than one registry entry. If there are problems with hardware devices, changes in software and operating environment, or manual cancellation from a user, entries to the registry get placed in there and take up space and resources. We do not really notice this at first until we experience lagging because of resources being used up for different reasons other than the programs you are running.

This is when you need the help of a registry cleaner like RegistryFix. Most PC problems are actually easily repairable if you just know how to go about the process. You do not need to pay lots of money to get a computer technician to solve your problem at all. Even if you do not know much or are not technically knowledgeable about computers, this software can solve these problems for you.

How does it compare with freeware and its competitors?

If you cannot afford to purchase this paid software, then perhaps freeware would be your next option. However, you need to be aware that almost all freeware are not sophisticated enough to get rid of those problematic entries in your computer. There just isn’t such a thing as free lunch.

While there are also many competitors like Error Nuker, Error Doctor and others, Registry Fix is able to stay ahead of them because of their easy to use interface and powerful cleaning functionalities.

So, if you continue to experience problems that slow your computer down or you just want to prevent them from happening, install RegistryFix in your computer and put an end to your worries.

RegistryFix also has other uniquely designed system attributes such as:

  1. Browser Helper Object Managera – this feature allows you to manage all of your internet explorer objects to ensure only things are running that you want to
  2. Startup Program Managera – control all of your start up options from this easy to control utility
  3. Add/Remove Program Managera -  control all of your programs from this easy to control utility.
  4. Full Registry Backup Utilitya -  control all of your backups from this easy to control utility.

I personally have and utilize many of these registry cleaners on my own computer, and I say many of them because I have discovered that only having one doing the job does not completely do everything to help keep your computer running well.

RegistryFix is one of the better registry cleaners that I currently use, it picks up many different errors and I can tell you that once my system is cleared of these errors it really works a lot better. I would recommend you downloading the free version onto your computer and have it scan your system, you will be really surprised what it may show you.
